When we arrived the hotel was in darkness & considering this was Easter weekend this did not bode well. The hotel was very tired & in need of lots of TLC. We appeared to be the only ones staying there. The good points were that the TV worked & the bedding was clean. That's where the good points end. The room... More

My wife and I are regular visitors to Morecambe but this is the first time we have stayed at St. Winifred's Hotel. Our first impressions were good. The third floor room with a wonderful view of the bay was a delight. Clean, comfortable with everything we would require for an overnight stay; TV, tea and coffee making facilities, bath with... Impressed with view from the room, looking out over Morecambe Bay. Service received was faultless, breakfast menu had plenty of choice and the food was a good standard. Beds were comfortable. Would recommend this hotel as a base for a short break, and we would stay there again.

Frist impressions were not good. We parked round the back of hotel to find an old mattress in the carpark. We were asked to pay money straight away before being shown to our room. Hotel shabby and in need of deseperate refurbishment. The room was clean but very old and worn. There was no fireplan or marked escape routes evident... More

I have very mixed views about this place. When we arrived it was not the best experience. We walked in and were roundly ignored by a kid doing important things on the internet. I rang the bell at reception to summon an Asian lady who asked us to pay there and then (it didn't work- the phone line on the... More

we booked this over the phone and was told a price that was agreed on for a three nights stay, gave my card details as a guarantee for them if we did`nt turn up and they would take a nights money for loss of income(fair enough). On leaving was told a much highter amount of an extra £30 which we refused to... There are too many negatives about this hotel to list.Suffice to say it is badly in need of a total refurb. This is a shame as it could be quite beautiful especially as the location is good.We will not be staying there again & would not ever recommend this hotel to anyone. Also at £65 per night it is quite overpriced.

I stayed here for two nights while on business near by. A lot of reviews say it needs a lick of paint, yes it does all over, but my bathroom looked like it had been done, so maybe they are mid process of doing it. The room itself, was still a bit dull, but comfortable. The walls are so thin... More

The hotel certainly retains many original features of the building and, I would add, to it's benefit. The staff (a family run concern) were exceptionally calm, friendly and helpful, despite a small problem that had arisen when we arrived. We had rooms overlooking the bay, which were spotless and very comfortable. The breakfast was superb, together with the service and... More
