We had a good three night stay - the room was on the small side, but very clean. The staff and owner were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was excellent - lots of fresh fruit and different yoghurts with a comprehensive hot breakfast menu as well. We had dinner every evening and the food was home cooked with a... more

We turned up mid-afternoon on Easter Monday after driving for much of the day from Essex less that two days after arriving in the UK from Australia. Valerie offered us a choice of rooms before offering tea and biscuits in her most pleasant guest lounge. Even the dogs were welcoming - and we felt bad not sharing our biscuits with... more

We were celebrating a 50th birthday, so had some family staying and some coming for the birthday dinner.Valerie and her staff could not do enough for us. The food was delicious - more than we could eat!! And the breakfast was enormous and catered for every taste. Also the room was lovely and very comfortable. Highly recommended! more

An absolutely fantastic holiday, we were even allowed to bring our dog with us which made our stay even more pleasant. We loved the open fire after our long walks. more

very pleasant over night stay at this hotel - the owners are friendly and helpful, the rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast is enormous. Valerie had really made an effort to accommodate my husband who can't eat wheat or gluten and it was obvious that some thought had gone into it. The grounds would probably have been lovely if... more

After a warm welcome and unpacking the car we enjoyed a lovely pot of tea and biscuits served to us in the lounge room by our charming hostess Valerie. We are very happy to have booked the dinner arrangement as the food was delicious! Compliments to Colin who not only prepared it, but also presented us every day with the... more

My room was above average (bathrobes, flat screen TV, toiletries, plenty of mirrors) and very comfortable, although at the front of the hotel I experienced no noise disturbance. There's no bar but it is licensed, (good wines in stock plus a selection of beers, spirits etc.) and there is a very comfortable lounge area. The food is locally sourced and... more
