Roy the innkeeper and staff were the best I've worked with at any hotel, inn, or resort. They really went the extra mile (such as printing directions for my friend and I, and driving our rental car up a snowy hill for us!) and were more than friendly. They were personable and seemed genuinely concerned about the quality of our... More

WilloughVale is still a mid winter treasure of warmth and hospitality in northern VT. We stumbled on it 18 years ago and made the trip from PA just to return. More

We (a couple from Boston) came here for a weekend away in January and loved it. The cabins were the perfect place to relax - enormous tub, gas fireplace, great kitchen, even better view of the lake and a cozy feel. The Inn is also close to several great snowshoeing trails, which made for great excursions. Roy, the innkeeper, was... More

My husband and I are new empty nesters and the Christmas Spirit was sadly lacking in our newly empty home. For the first time in 30 years of married life, I didn't put up a Christmas tree! We made the decision to 'go away' and I contacted the WilloughVale Inn & Cottages through the Trip Advisor website. We know the... More

My boyfriend and I live in the city and were in DESPERATE need of a weekend getaway to get our sanity back. After searching everywhere, I chose this inn based on price and the fact that we could stay in a cabin with a jetted tub and fireplace. Let me tell you, this was the best decision I've ever made!... I visited the WilloughVale Inn for the first time this past weekend. My boyfriend and I took advantage of the 'off-season' rates & stayed in The Birches, one of the waterfront cottages. From the outside, The Birches looks like your typical lake front cottage. However, once we opened the door - we felt like we were staying in a 5... More

The Willoughvale Inn is a diamond in the rough!! I found this Inn online for our quick trip to Vermont and fell in love! I wish we could have stayed longer. The "twilight" cottage was great, all the comforts and convienieces of home except with an unforgettable view of Lake Willoughby and its surrounding mountains. The staff was very helpful... More

Of course most places never live up to the photos. This one does not either. Both the main building and the cottages on the lake are very close to highway 5A. Traffic noise. Came for the leaf peeping season. The restaurant and pub were closed for the season. So had to drive to other areas as there was no other... More

I enjoyed my stay here. I was in the Loon room and it was basic but had a great view of the lake. Yes a road seperates the inn rooms from the lake front but it was not a problem for me. There are canoes and lake access right across the road next to the villas. The staff was very... More

We had wanted to stay at the Willoughvale Inn for quite awhile. Upon arrival we found the Inn to be quite charming. Our room overlooked Lake Willoughby. Great view!!! Having read about the cuisine we looked forward to an excellent dinner. Reservations for 6:30PM. The power went out @ 6:15. Guess what. No back-up generator!!!! Not only could we not... More

While long overdue, let me thank our September 29, 2011 guest for her observations. We are pleased with the number of motorcycle travelers who stop at the Willoughvale. I am sorry your experience was less than positive. A power outage of any duration is an inconvenience. I have had conversations with our chef and intend to have food available in... More
