We enjoyed a 2 night stay, good location you can walk into town, good pub food and restaurants nearby. I also recommend the traditional english breakfast which sets you up for the day. More

The Gables hotel is located just off the North end of the promenade, about 10 to 15 minutes walk from Lord Street.
