Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable accommodation, good entertainment - the only thing that I would criticize about the Duke of Gordon is that the food was average, not very well presented, watery soup. Other than that, a fine hotel.

Travelled here with a coach party just before Easter and was very pleasantly surprised. We were greeted on arrival by the manager and allocated our rooms while on coach, saving the usual wait at reception. Our luggage was then brought to our rooms. which were comfortable and warm (weather was extremely cold). . The staff were all very friendly and... More

My wife Sue and I have just returned from Scotland after staying from Easter Sunday to the following Friday at this superb hotel. No, we're not joking! Before booking our holiday we checked the reviews and were encouraged by the fact that most of the recent ones seemed to be favourable. However, having stayed there for four nights, we now find ourselves agreeing with the less enthusiastic ones. Our first impressions on entering Room 356 were good. It was nicely decorated and the... Stayed as part of a coach party. From start to finish the experience at the hotel was delightful and the major influence on this was the manager and his staff. After a warm welcome, we were smoothly moved from coach to rooms, none of the usual pushing and shoving around the reception desk. The hotel is a little worn around... More

Thank you for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed our hospitality and the spectacular scenery we are blessed with here. Being a traditional building that is over 100 years old we do have some creaking floors but I hope they didn't disturb you too much. We hope you will visit again in the not too distant future. I have just returned from a "short break" at The Duke of Gordon. From start to finish the trip was excellent. The location is perfect for the independent traveller, the hotel itself comfortable and clean, the food plentiful and delicious. The only miniscule thing that could be improved would be to ask the smokers NOT to smoke immediately outside the... More
