We stayed here for 3 days after the TT and were disappointed. Our room was very large, and had a great bed and huge bathroom. Sadly the water temperature in the shower was hit and miss. The wireless in the room was basically useless, as it was so slow it just dropped out on our Ipad and an Android phone,... More

Thank you for submitting a review following your recent stay with us and we are sorry that we did not fully meet your expectations on this occasion. The Sefton was built in 1892, since when numerous additions have been built on - whilst this adds to the character of the hotel, as you say, it can occasionally lead to confusion... More

Last minute TT booking found us in lovely Atrium twin room with all mod cons and a snip at the price given the location with secure motorcycle car parking and the time of year. Breakfast and bar both great and staff helpful with any enquiries. We have now stopped at all the islands' three and four star hotels in recent... More

Great location in centre of Douglas. Handy for shops, promenade and TT festivities. Rooms overlooking water garden atrium would usually be a good idea (relaxing sitting on balcony) but during exceptionally hot week was very stuffy as no window leading outdoors. No outdoor seating (other than small smoking area outside bar) although Villa Marina gardens next door. Gallery restaurant excellent... More

The good: Great staff, very helpful and friendly even during the busy TT week. The Bad: Expensive 120lbs a night, towel warmer didnt work, floor on room had about a 10 degree slant in two directions (not good after waking up from a long night in the Pub) The bed was like sleeping on a slab of granite, the bicycle... Just returned home after a one night stay here. Clean room which had a balcony overlooking a nice covered courtyard. Hotel staff helpful and with good local knowledge. Breakfast was nice and no shortages. Would recommend and stay again.

Central, seafront location. Grand old building. Main reception looks a bit tired in places (few areas of peeling paint etc) and the overall layout is somewhat labyrinthine but welcome was warm and check-in was efficient. Room was large and included a sofa, desk etc, mine opened out on to the internal Atrium and as a result I could hear a... More

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. The hotel first opened its doors in 1892 hence over the years has had a number of sections and wings added on - adding to its "quirky" layout and we believe giving it great character. We are pleased you found your... More

Like the promenade in Douglas, the Sefton hotel has probably seen better days, particularly before the onset of package holidays in the 1960s. This was my first time on the island and thus, my first time at the hotel. The first thing that struck me concerned the hotel overall: it was obvious that parts of it had been redeveloped, while... We stayed two nights at the Sefton. Stayed in the "Speakers suite". We were led to a floor and left at the lift on checking in at midnight, only to find that the floor was incorrect. On returning some distance to reception it was unmanned. The room key cards were poor - we needed four different cards in 24 hours.

A great position on the promenade in Douglas, with two excellent restaurants attached - one either side. Both were excellent.
