This hotel couldn't be better placed really: when they say excellent sea views they really mean it - the place is as near the beach as it's possible to be without getting wet! It's a really lovely place to stay, with welcoming owners, beautiful architecture and full of character. Possibly one of the most relaxed places I've ever had the... More

Esme and Bob were perfect hosts always prepared to help in any way possible. We stayed in the tower bedroom which had excellent views on three sides of the harbour, coastline and esplanade. Hotel was extremely clean, the breakfast was very good and was served in the conservatory which had fabulous sea views. Free car parking was available on the hotel... More

We stayed in the clock tower room which is quirky space that is split on two floors. The bedroom has windows on 3 sides with great views of the sea and waterfall. The breakfast was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Also they booked our ferry which made it slightly cheaper. You can be sure of a warm welcome... More

Will definitely be coming back we wanted a nice peaceful break with super views and that's just what we got. Very relaxing nothing was to much trouble for Bob and Esme like staying in a real old country house by the sea perfect. Breakfast was good with lots of variety. More

In real need of R + R we rounded the Esplanade hairpin to be amazed by the perfect rooflines of this historic building. Greeted warmly by Bob and Esme we felt we had found just the right bolt hole for a week's relaxation. Breakfast in the conservatory with the sun sparkling on the sea was a true Mediterranean-style start to... More

We used trip advisor to help us make a decision on where to stay & were not disappointed. Bob & Esme were really friendly & helpful. The rooms were great (room 7 has a fantastic sea view from 2 windows & a huge 4 poster bed as well as all the normal conveniences) Breakfast was delicious and there are plenty... More

We took a four night break to remind ourselves of the Island after an absence of 25 years. It's still a lovely place to visit, and any changes are only for the better. Visited Osborne House for the first time, not to be missed. The Hotel was excellent,in a unique position, and Bob and Esme made us feel most welcome.... More

Bob and Esme are friendly and helpful, the services is great, as is the breakfast (perfect poached eggs). The sea view from the conservatory where breakfast is serviced is fabulous, and from some of the bedrooms. There are several good inexpensive restaurants on the esplande which is a few minutes walk away, also with great sea views. More

I had only been to the IOW for a rainy daytrip 11 years ago and my husband had holidayed as a child a good 50 years ago. We started our week in Bembridge and happened upon St Augustine Villa exploring westwards. Our 3 nights were perfect and room 7 was everything we wanted; a 6 foot bed facing the wonderful... More
