Our hosts Lynne and Chris could not have been more friendly, helpful and considerate. Despite bad weather our hosts made sure we had a good time. The breakfasts were excellent and all rooms have a sea view of one kind or another. The rooms were spotless as was the bedding and all in all a very comfortable stay. Hope to... More

We have just come back from a few days staying at the Miclaran in Shanklin on the Isle of wight and we were very impressed with the friendly service and lovely room which we were given for our stay. We chose one of the Sea view rooms and I must say that the view was indeed lovely and the weather... More

My wife and I have just spent five days on the island out side Shanklin. We stayed at the Miclaran run by Lynne and Chris. The least we can say it was excellent, The welcome we got on arrival, set the tone of the stay. Lynne was standing at the door to greet us and show us around. The whole place... More

Comfortable 3 night stay in a modern well presented hotel. Warm welcome on arrival. Lovely breakfast with views out to sea. Room smaller than picture on website, strange layout, cramped around bed. Lovely clean and would like to try a different room next time. More

Superb location and very comfortable accommodation. The views are quite stunning, beautiful sunrise! Excellent breakfast and the proprietors, Chris & Lynne (and Reggie the dog) could not be more friendly and attentive. Hope to stay there again and would not hesitate to recommend. Also well situated close to Shanklin Old Town for good pubs and restaurants (recommend The Crab)! More

We made yet another visit to Chris and Lyn and the Miclaran (oh and not forgetting the lovely Reggie) and their care, enthusiasm, and sense of humour make this the very best of places to stay on the island. And then of course there are the yummy breakfasts with loads of choices. The rooms are spotless, comfortable and most have breathtaking... More

Wonderful location, lovely and clean, bedrooms have ample space, great hosts and superb breakfasts. What more can we say - hotel is situated on the coast road between Shanklin and Sandown, there are also some steep steps down to the promenade which provided a much flatter walk either way alongside the beach. Very accomodating hosts, willing to help in any... More

We had a great stay at the Miclaran. The hotel (more of a B&B really!) was clean, quiet and pleasant at all times. Chris and Lynne were great hosts - thank you once again! The hotel is away from the general hustle and bustle of the main beachfront but within easy commuting distance of all attractions in the Isle of... More
