Very interesting accommodation with an artistic and knowledgeable hostess. Lesley made sure that we felt at home and breakfast was delicious. Durham Cathedral is magnificent and beautiful photos of it can be taken across the river near the weir. Hope to return one day. More

This was a very convenient and characterful location for a weekend in Durham without having to stay in an impersonal and clinical big hotel in the centre. Planned to stay here 3 nights but left after the 1st night. Although the hostess was a kind person, the room was cold, damp, dirty and very moldy. If you want a good value B&B without doilies, I couldn't recommend Chestnut Villas more highly. Warm, friendly welcome, lovely breakfast (fresh fruit! plus cooked breakfast) and very reasonable rates. More
