Its not often that something surpasses your expectation but this did ! We stayed in the Indigo room which was lovely, with a huge HD TV on the wall and the huge double shower; you cannot fail to be impressed. The room was immaculately clean and as part of staying there we received two valentine cup cakes and Moulton Brown... More

My partner & I stayed here Friday . . . . .i cannot fault this place at all. From arrival the staff were extremely pleasant & helpful, the decor in the hotel is very sumptuous & decadent. We stayed in Le Jardin our room/lodge was a treat with grass effect carpet, nice decoration & mini sauna, the bathroom has a... More

Visited Gadds for a Friday night meal with my girlfriend and another couple for the first time. I'm quite well travelled and this place is unique, with a very decadent Victorian / yet modern design. The service was first class, the cuisine is of high quality, with generous portion sizes. A decent priced wine is around £20 per bottle...we had... More

We stayed in Gadds Townhouse for my birthday, and this being our first visit to Durham we were very pleased with the central location of the hotel, to enable us to explore the wonderful city! The moment we entered the hotel, the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful! Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was very... More

This was our 3rd stay at the Fallen Angel (now called Gadd's Townhouse). We were interested to try one of the refurbished rooms. We stayed in Ruby which was beautifully furnished and decorated with a four poster bed and free standing bath. It has atmospheric lighting but this translates as too dark when trying to get ready to go out.... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Fallen Angel Hotel (now renamed to the Gadds Town House) in January 2011 for our anniversary. We booked the Le Jardin room, mostly based on the fact it had it's own hot tub and sauna. Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome and taken to our room – the Le Jardin... More

Myself and my husband stayed here for a night just before Christmas as a treat for his 30th birthday. We'd seen it on Four in a bed and always liked the sound of the Premier Room, and we know the new owners are refurbishing the rooms and getting rid of some of the themes so we wanted to stay there...
