The Alendale is brilliantly placed - a few mins from the train station and town center & and a few mins from the beach. It's clean & tidy, very comfy beds and pretty rooms - and the breakfast is delicious & very generous! Clive and Lesley are also lovely hosts, and have included really nice touches in their service -... More

Stayed at the Alendale for a mid week break. The Guest house is situated across the road from the lovely beach with its golden sand and crystal clear water. It has 5 guest rooms and benefits from its own off street parking. The town centre with all its shops is less than a 10 minute walk away. Also close by is... More

We stayed 2 nights at the Alendale, and it is first class. From beginning to end Clive and Lesley were so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Our luggage was 'sorted' by Clive on arrival and departure, the room was absolutely spotless, as was the rest of the Guest House, the bed so comfortable, with lots of extras like deliciously smelling toiletries,... We recently had a three night stay at this excellent B&B. Clive & Lesley are skilled and friendly hosts. They work hard to keep the accommodation in first class condition. Our room was small but cozy with a lovely comfortable bed. They offer a good choice at breakfast and I enjoyed the kippers with perfectly cooked toast. The house has... More

Stayed in room 5 for weekend and cannot fault it. Front door needs painting as it gives wrong impression of a great b&b. Great value for money. Will recommend to friends, will be returning later this year. This is easily the best b&b we've stayed in. Wellington pub in town was an amazing place for dinner.

It will be a great pleasure to see you both again! Thank you for taking the time to write the review, we do appreciate this. We agree about the front door, apparently it is the original georgian door and it is one of the jobs we desperately want done! However we have to wait until the weather is better and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Alendale Guest House is a warm and comfortable Grade II listed Georgian building in the beautiful seaside holiday town of Weymouth, Dorset, situated in a terrace at the end of the esplanade. It is just across the road from the beach and a short walk to the harbour and shopping centre and the old town with its restaurants, bars and nightlife. Retaining many of its Georgian features and character, the guest house offers comfortable, fresh accommodation on a B&B basis. All the rooms have en-suite facilities and families are welcome. We pride ourselves at the Alendale on our high standard of cleanliness. In your room you will find a well supplied hospitality tray and often home made cakes. Seasonal flowers are placed in the room and we also provide hair dryers, sewing kits and shoe cleaning kits. An iron and board can be provided on request and we can also arrange dry cleaning. The Alendale has a modern dining room that can sit 14, with views towards the beach. We have a wonderful breakfast menu and source all our produce, where possible, directly from Dorset. The menu includes a full English breakfast with a choice of selected extras, or perhaps local grilled kippers or scrambled egg and smoked salmon with grilled brioche. There is also a selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. You can also help yourself to our breakfast buffet which includes fruit and a range of Dorset Cereals. Special diets can be catered for with prior notice but we generally find that most vegetarians can find something suitable from the menu. Our motto is, “If we can, we will”! ... more   less
