This was our second of hopefully annual trips for many years to come, to this delightful country house set in one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland. Charming staff, excellent food and drink, friendly ambience; what more could one ask for. My wife and I like to get out and about as much as possible and there is so... More

Douneside is a fine Scottish country house set in beautiful Comar between Aberdeen and Braemar, near to Aboyne, Ballater and Banchory. The grounds are spectacular and an arboretum is underway. It is close to the Tarland golf course (as well as many others) and the river Dee while Lochnagar offers a climb accessible to all near to Loch Muick. There... More

We were recommended to visit Douneside House and were more than delighted by the ambience, polite and friendly staff and the wonderful views, grounds and comfort that it had to offer. Our room was exceptional. The scenery around is beautiful and it made an excellent place to explore Deeside. We have taken brochures and will definately recommend it to friends... More

We enjoyed our stay at Douneside for many reasons, but in particular must mention the cheerful and helpful staff. The meals and hotel amenities were excellent, and really deserve a five star rating up to the standard of many major hotels in the UK. The gardens were beautiful and a treat to walk around, and we took a walk into... More
