Stayed here for one night while visiting Appleby Horse Fair. Lovely oasis of calm to come back to in the evening and Penny is a wonderful host. Breakfast is not for the feint-hearted! The freshly baked bread is wonderful and don't miss the black pudding! It's an excellent location for either a stop-off on the journey north into Scotland or as a base for exploring the Lake District, the North Yorkshire Fells or both. More
