Poolway House is a hotel that feels a little more like a B&B. The Tudor building is gorgeous (all beams and sloping floors - not ideal if you're very tall!) although the decor is dated and runs to mind-bending swirly carpets. I stayed here in October when attending a wedding in a nearby village, and was really pleased to have found somewhere so quiet. comfortable and reasonably priced. The owner arranged a taxi for us to get to the wedding, and gave us a key so that we could let ourselves in when the reception was over. The breakfast was huge and delicious, although it wasn't clear what time we were expected. A really good choice in an area which seems to specialise in over-priced hotels.
