The outside of the hotel could do with a re-vamp, it looked tatty and uncared for. The room we stayed in Room 21, was supposed to be a superior room for which we have paid extra for, was like being in a sauna even with the radiator off and windows open. The fan made little or no difference. At breakfast... more

£50 including breakfast is a fair price for this hotel. Positives- our room was clean, spacious, we did not hear the trains and the breakfast was well cooked with quality ingredients. Negatives- we were in the Barrowby room which was part of the 80s extension to the hotel- it was in need of some updating- the Mira sport shower needed... more

1. The bedroom. Listed as superior, the room was a good size but was decorated in a vile pink colour with a floral border. The standard of cleanliness was poor, surfaces were dusty, there were cobwebs on the light fittings, the strange curtain/pelmet arrangement above the bed was very dusty, the cups provided were dirty and 1 had a hair... more

I booked this Best Western hotel as in the past I have never come across a problem with this chain of hotels. We arrived at 11.15 p.m. and the receptionist was friendly and competent showing us to room 10. He told us that this was a superior room - maybe in the 1960's - very old fashioned with a four... more

As soon as we pulled into the car park my heart sank, the place looks cheap and outdated.Once inside the reception area looks ok but once you have your room key and you walk through the corridors it goes down hill the decor is like something out of the seventies, the carpet is so badly worn that duct tape holds it together... more

It probably was ok in the 80ies but now it's just awful. It starts with the outside - looks cheap, you go inside - it looks reasonable in reception but then you go past the bar & it STINKS of cigarette smoke from the bar and fatty greasy food from the kitchen. Going up the stairs my heart sank -... more

What I would describe as a Hotel with Character with all of Grantham centre within convenient Walking distance. Staff, service and breakfast selection very good with very good value, efficient catering for functions. Bar with good selection of Ales, Wines and Cider and comfortable modern socialable public areas but behind all this is a old warren of a building with... more
