This is a very good hotel to stay at when in Lowestoft. Its a 15mins walk from the town but there is ample car parking accros the road. The Hotel itself is rather 'oldy worldy' to retain the attmosphere of the place where Benjamin Britten was born and spent many years of his life. There are about 10 rooms all... More

Decided to try Britten House for a one night stay due to work in Lowestoft. When I rang to book it was full but the owners called me a few days later to say that they now had a room. It's a gorgeous house, and breakfast was spectacularly delicious being freshly cooked from excellent ingredients. Newly home made strawberry jam... More

Fabulous room - spacious, comfortable and quiet. We arrived on cycles and the owners were very helpful, storing them in a locked area. The owners were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was great - well cooked, good quality food. This was extremely good value for the price - I would definitely stay there again. More

Really professionally run. I rang the house before arrival, but didn't get a reply. However, within a minute I had a call back from Ann apologising for the missed call, so a good start. We were warmly greeted on arrival and Colin offered to carry our luggage up the stairs, which my wife really appreciated. We were then given a... More

Our second visit and as before a friendly welcome was received followed by another comfortable stay. Lovely large room with sea view with all high quality furnishings and toiletries etc. Following a peaceful nights rest we were treated to a full english breakfast freshly cooked, very filling and set us up for the day. we look forward to our next... Just returned home from a two night stay (April 11-12) at the fabulous Britten House and nothing has changed from our first visit last year. Please read that review of September 2011, regarding accommodation, breakfast etc. As before we visited with our grandson and stayed in the Schubert Room, absolutely fantastic, with great views out to the sea. Our visit... More

'Thank you Ann & Colin for a great, comfortable stay. A late booking request for a family room for 5 (less than 24 hrs) was met with real understanding and help, the offer of an an extra bed was put in the room which was more than we could of asked for. We arrived the following day to find a... More

I have been using Britten House whenever I am in Lowestoft for the past 3 years and have yet to write a review. So I thought, there's a first time for everything!! I was intrigued to find out what other guests thoughts on this 5 star establishment, as I have never found a fault. I was surprised to see such... More

I stayed here last weekend, if only I'd discovered this very nice B&B before. The owner was most welcoming, carried my bag to my room. The room itself was very nice, nicely decorated, very comfy bed, and a drinks fridge as well. The breakfast was well cooked, and plenty of it. Lots of choice. Would definitely recommend this place to... More
