As a £40 'B&B' this is fine value. Arrived very late at night but phoned staff as requested who told me where to find key. Room pleasingly large, well appointed and very clean. So much nicer than a travel-lodge. Yes the fittings and furniture are old but they are clean and well maintained and in any event compliment the lovely... More

The welcome was good and the room appeared well furnished for a couple of nights stay It looked well equiped with comfortable work desk with plenty of power sockets. The two seater settee was modern and comfortable. The room looked out onto a patio and garden. The bathroom was full size with quality fittings. I had room 16 for two... More

I cannot believe this place is still going! It is dire and I echo every review about the manageress - the rudest person I have ever spoken to ( I say spoken as when we complained she couldn't be bothered to come out from the back to talk to us in person, just shouted at us down the phone!) hotel... We booked in for a wedding. Our room had recently vacated long term stayed: cigarette stench awful, valance mouldy, no security to door to speak of so we locked stuff in our car, hot and cold taps switched and all extremely in need of proper management and investment. Even a budget hotel can have standards More

We have stayed at the Croft due to its convenience to the tunnel. Yes, it is more of a guest house than a hotel but the staff have never been anything more than very welcoming and polite. The food (Italian) is also very good as are the breakfasts (even if you do have to pay extra, but as we sometimes... More

We booked the hotel without looking at any online reviews. When we read the reviews, we weren't looking forward to staying there, however when we first arrived we felt optimistic... until we had to be let in as the hotel was locked up! It's a beautiful building with lots of character and the room was large and nicely laid out... More

Stayed here for one night on Boxing Day. Arrived just to leave our bags at 11am and the room and reception area were freezing. The Christmas tree lights were off and there were lots of cigarette butts to greet us either side of the front door. The gentleman on reception assured us it would be warm on our return. It... More

We stopped in this hotel over night, group of 3 with 2 rooms. The rooms are clean and neat, nothing special but I wasn’t paying for anything fancy. Just somewhere to stay and get off the next morning. There seemed to be only 2 staff in the entire place, when we arrived around 5pm Saturday there was a wedding in... More

Stayed overnight before going through the tunnel. They charged £10 per dog and said we had to have an outside room due to having dogs, which cost an extra £10. Neither was mentioned during booking. The food and drink was very expensive, service was surly. The full english breakfast was one of the smallest we had seen! 2 of our... More

I recently stayed at the Croft as I was attending a funeral in Charing and subsequent wake at the Conningbrook Hotel just along the road. The funeral was at 3:20pm and it stated on the blurb that check-in wasn't normally until 4pm, but early check-in could be arranged. So I phoned the hotel the day before I left to come... More
