We had a lovely weekend here at Ty-Mynydd in freezing January - but the warmth of Nikki and her family along with the roaring log fires kept us cosy. This is a great place to really get away from it all, tucked up at the base of Hay bluff surrounded by sheep and wild ponies. A super experience - we... More

This is an amazing place to stay. Set on a remote farm in fantastic countryside above Hay on Wye, the accommodation is in the family home but we did not find this in the least intrusive. The house has been more or less built up from a shell by John and Niki and the effect is excellent. We stayed in... More

What an amazing find .... absolutely wonderful from the moment you wander down the country road to the farmhouse. Beautiful views and a feeling of "ah" I've arrived, peace at last. Both John, Niki and all the family were great hosts welcoming you to their home and your wonderful bedroom and "that view". Bathroom with a great roll-top bath was... More

spent 2 nights here with our 3 year old daughter, firstly i was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the furnishings, tasteful and a very comfortable bed. the views are second to none, the hospitality from the owners family was beyond what i would reasonably expect, it felt as if we stayed with friends. So if its peace and relaxation... More

From start to finish, everything was organic and as nature intended. So much love and passion has been injected into the B&B and it is evident in every little detail. Gorgeous homemade bread made by Niki, honey from the farms own beehives, fresh eggs from the resident chickens and lets not forget the walls themselves...built by John. The farm really... More

We stayed at Ty Mynydd at the start of our tour of Herefordshire and Powys in July. We arrived quite late and were welcomed by Niki at the door. As another reviewer has said, the drive up to the farm is quite 'entertaining', the roads are mostly single track with passing places - just take your time! If you are... More

A wonderful location in a lovely stone house that shows off the high level craftsmanship and care of the hosts, the rooms and the family were delightful. When people put their heart and soul into a place it shows, and with tasty fresh eggs and bacon for breakfast from their free range organic smallholding, and honey from their bees, this... More

The Bed and Breakfast was comfortable enough and the breakfast was good. However the guest rooms are part of the family house and there was a lot of noise (loud TV, radio etc). So if you are looking for a quiet rest then this is not the place to be. More

The location is truly idyllic in its splendid isolation – although the drive up from Hay isn't for the faint-hearted! I went running each morning and these runs were an inspirational start to the day. We had the front bedroom, the one with good views and also the most comfortable bed/bedding that either of us has ever experienced - the... More
