As previous reviewers have stated, Jenny is an extremely pleasant hostess. Nothing is too much trouble to her and she is very helpful in recommending places to eat. We had the McGregor suit and the views across the Firth are very interesting. Only a short drive from the car ferry Mayfair is well situated for that and the town centre.... More

I spent 4 nights at the Mayfair Guesthouse in early June 2010 and am so pleased that I chose this establishment over other guest houses in Dunoon. The spacious Victorian house dates from around 1859 and enjoys a commanding location half way up a short residential road about a mile from the centre of Dunoon, in Kirn, on the road... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Mayfair staying in the Mcgregor suite. The ensuite room was spotless and had everything we needed for our stay including freeview TV,and the complementary tea, coffee and biscuits were replenished daily. Jenny and Dennis made us feel more than welcolme and went out of their way to ensure that we had... More

We stayed in the Macgregor Room with a superb view over the Clyde and the bathroom also has seaview. Room was quite big, the furniture maybe a bit dated but everything was very tidy and clean. Jenny was very friendly, gave lots of tips of where to go and Dennis' s breakfast was great, very filling and set us up... More

Personnal seervice is becoming difficult to find in this day and age - well we found it at the Mayfair. Dennis and Jenny made us extremely welcome and we could not fault the hotel or service. What a shame they had no control over the Scotish weather. Brekfast was the full English - super. More

Jenny was watching out for us, and came into the car-park to see if we needed help:that set the tone for the rest of our stay. She hung up our dripping walking gear to dry, and took charge of my filthy boots. Breakfast was good: eight o'clock was early enough for us, but we could have asked for it earlier... More

The Mayfair has recently been recently upgraded and was comfortable, friendly, and a perfect location for travels in the west of Scotland, including the highlands and the Isle of Bute. This in the heart of the Cowal area, and not far from Glascow. Dennis and Jenny were great hosts, full of helpful suggestions about where to go and what to... More
