I liked the place, the rooms were acceptable, I like the way we were received by the Lighthouse Inn staff. Just one “little” problem: They made a mistake; I may have made one too. As a result I paid part of my stay twice and “The Lighthouse Inn” does not accept to refund the overpaid amount. If you like to... more

This review is not accurate, Company policy is any credit card duplicate payments are immedietely refunded. all Customers also have the chargeback facility as additional cover. The customer in question could not provide any proof of duplicate payments hence the delay upon which was in fact only charged once.

We stayed here on the way to and back from calais and the best I can describe our experience was adequate. We stayed in the Lodge which meant the whole family could be to gether (me, hubby and four children aged 2 - 12) Room was clean, nicely decorated and fitted our needs. We didn't have breakfast on our outbound... more

We had a meal last night at The Lighthouse and also had one about a fortnight ago. We thought both were excellent. The fish and chips in particular were spectacular, the service was exceptionally good. I don't think the last review is fair at all and also people should think twice before absolutely slaughtering a place because reviews on Tripadvisor... more

James and Eddie, the new owners of The Lighthouse made our son's Christening day and the build up to it such a wonderful time. We had a FABULOUS meal the night before the Christening with lots of family who also stayed at the lighthouse. James is an amazing chef with such passion. He discussed a menu with me and everybody... more

We've often wondered how reviews of the same place can differ so much but at this hotel we had 2 rooms and 2 different experiences. Room Number 2 was a lovely airy, spacious room with sea views, pretty decoration and en suite facilities. Room Number 9 was a small double , not en suite (walk along corridoor via steps and... more

We visit Calais via the Channel Tunnel about once a year and have used the Lighthouse Inn as a stopover on a number of previous occasions. The last time we stayed there was in late 2004. At that time, we had a really enjoyable stay. While the rooms have always been fairly basic, there has traditionally been a great atmosphere... more

Stayed here as a stop off before going on the Channel Tunnel to Calais. It is about 15 minutes away from the Folkestone entrance. Nice clean rooms and a pub underneath. Reasonable food, although the restaurant and pub totally lacked atmosphere - it was a bit slaughtered lamb. I was asked if I wanted breakfast at an extra £6.50 each.... more
