When my local football team finished their season with an away match against Huddersfield, I decided to stay for the night and then travel in to the Peak District. I booked a night in the Croppers Arms and was glad I did. It was perfect for what I needed it for, really. Just a couple of miles from the Galpharm... More

This is really a pub with rooms more than a hotel. The good thing is that it does not pretend to be anything else. The rooms are lovingly decorated and everything was clean The staff was brilliant both on arrival and departure. Really friendly which is great for a woman out on business on her own. I was even served... More

Had an evening meal with approximately twenty others from our local club. The food was good from start to finish with lots of choice and decent portions. The waiting staff (mostly young) were very helpful, polite and the service was quick and proffesional. On a regular basis a man who I believe many have been the chef or duty manager... More

Not stayed in here so can't comment on the accommodation but we've eaten here as a family a few times. The menu is extensive and caters for a wide range of tastes, from sandwiches through curry via fish to roasts and steaks along with a good selection of Ales and beers. We turned up in the pouring rain slightly before... More

Good place to stay for town - on a bus route with bus every 10 mins into town & has character not like the premier inn type place. Bed was ok. Rooms good. Food was good. Staff very friendly. Would stay again. The "Flea Pit" review is way off the mark! More

On the web site it say 6 luxury ensuite rooms, if you consider dirty carpets, mouldy tiles, rooms that smell and worn out towels luxury then stay here. My stay only lasted one night and the only reason I stayed was because it was to late in the evening to find alternative accomodation, in the morning I felt dirty and... More
