We recently dined at this beautiful little restaurant, it's very quaint with a warm lovely atmosphere. The staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing too much trouble. We dined on a special voucher for two at £70, the mussells in garlic and cream were the best I've ever tasted, followed by slow roast pork, my husband was more than pleased... More

We had Christmas Day lunch at the Olive Branch. The meal was absolutely superb and the service second to none. The atmosphere from upon arrival to departing was one of relaxation and the staff were very confident and did not fluster. We go out each Christmas and speak from experience when we say that it was a pleasure to be... More

We booked for dinner, on a cold Wednesday night. Received a warm welcome, but were not told until after we ordered that certain items not available or there was only one portion, this is always annoying. The kitchen has a competent team and could not fault the food, though I thought slightly overpriced. It does offer a cheaper small choice... More

We booked our stay here as we were attending a wedding nearby. Nowhere on the website did it say that we would be staying overnight in a building unoccupied by any staff, in a bedroom right on the busy roadside in a bed where the bottom sheet did not fit and came off in the night and the pillows were... Apart from the musac at breakfast this place is well worth a visit. Staff pleasant and helpful. Food well above average. Room confortable. Ask for bedroom at the back. Good value for money. Go for a walk along the canal to Marsden. More

This a real find; reasonably close to the M62 and neatly bisecting Leeds and the culinary wasteland that is Manchester. Avoids needing to trek further north to the many splendid place in North Yorkshire for a good pub/restaurant with rooms. If you can get it, the room and fixed-price menu deal is bordering on criminal in the customers favour: checked... More

This is a small village pub/restaurant with a handful of rooms reached via a staircase accessed through a separate 'front door'. We spent two nights and had dinner and a full breakfast the first night, and just the room and 'inclusive' breakfast on the second. The room was spacious, simply but comfortably furnished and pleasant. (Although the rooms are themed,... More

Myself and my boyfriend visited the Olive Branch for the first time for a meal. All we can say is that it was fantastic. The service was top rate, the food was beautiful and the price was reasonable. We have dined at many top rate restaurants around Manchester, Lancs and Yorkshire and I have to say that this will take... More

Having recently moved to Huddersfield I decided to take my husband to the Olive Branch for a meal on his birthday. It was a dreadful dissapointment and terribly over-priced. To add insult to injury the service was strangly off-hand. The foi gras was hard, buttery with no detectable trace of cognac. The fillet beef strips with brandy sauce and mushrooms... More
