I recently booked room 201, the disabled bedroom, for a couple who came to visit us from Woking, Surrey. Having explained in detail my friends extensive disability requirements at the time of making the reservation, I was shocked when I rang the hotel on the day of arrival to find that the lift was broken, the disabled bedroom was on... Great location in the centre of town. The rooms are a little tired to say the least. I moved rooms as the light was not working in the shower, and I am glad, the double was much better than the cell I was in originally. The staff were very good and helpful, but the whole place does feel like it... More

DIdn't stay in the hotel but had a family meal in the empty restaurant, ( 3 Course set menu ) poor choices on the menu for mains (Roast Pork, Bacon Chop, Sausages, Fish, Veg Lasagne - I don't eat pork but do eat meat) Slow service and not the best quality food. You can see that they are putting the... More

I stayed in this hotel last night and was repeatedly woken up by air in the pipes causing the radiators to shake, rattle and roll. The level of noise was similar to someone hitting a radiator with a hammer for 5 minutes. This happened at 6am, 7am, and 8am. I registered my complaint during the night. At check-out they initially... More

I really don't understand the reviewers that enjoyed their stay here? Perhaps they were at a different hotel? We stayed here on a Saturday night to go out on a meal with our friends. When we arrived, we had to wait for ages for reception staff which was not good after a lengthy travel. There was no bell to ring,... More

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago after watching a football match. Really enjoyed our stay, pleasant room, bathroom could do with a bit of modernising but everything was in character with this traditional hotel. Service was good, lovely dining room and nice bar. Free parking at side of hotel was excellent. Only problem we found was the room was... More

My husband and i recently attended a works christmas party at the hotel, we were met on arrival by the receptionist who was very polite and curtious. We had a thouroughly enjoyable meal, the food was fantastic. (compliments to the chef). The party was held in one of the restaurants, the room was layed out very nicely and the serving... More

Spent 2 nights back in November arrived late but night porter was very accommodating especially as we had no idea where to park the car! Room was ok although bathroom was a little small. Great breakfast but no idea regards dinner as we ate out as the hotel is right in the middle of the town. Staff were very helpful... More
