A group of friends booked in for a spa day, which include a 2 course lunch. It was a glorious sunny day, and after very expensive tea and coffee ( we only got half a cup, cost nearly £16 for 4 drinks!!) we enjoyed some tennis (well, mainly picking up the balls!) and a swim/jacuzzi pool. Lunch at Adams brasserie... More

We went to the Wernher to celebrate a family members birthday. The drive to the main house is nice but there isn't a great visa until you get closer to the main house. The parking to the front of the house was full so the door man pointed us to a disabled parking space, I questioned this as we intended... More

Me and 3 friends came here for afternoon tea... how fabulous it was! The staff were very friendly and helpful and were always on hand to pour the tea... the sandwiches and cakes were lovely and fresh. We stayed for a good 4 hours just chatting and enjoying the lovely surroundings. Well worth £26! More

The hotel and it's surroundings are beautiful. The best activity is to just walk around it. The spa was a bit disappointing though, the temperature in the small pool was too low (wasn't hot enough). The explained that the boiler was broken. The side-jets (what was supposed to make the small pool a jacuzzi) didn't work at all. We ate... More

We stayed at the Hoo after being invited to have afternoon tea with friends and didn't fancy driving back. Our room was lovely and spacious, plenty of room for our labrador who came with us to play about in. The afternoon tea was nice, though service was not overly attentive. We then retired to the bar and later requested room... More

A large group of us arrived for lunch today. The brasserie is very clean but dated. The atmosphere was uncomfortable, very loud live music being played on and off. The service was poor. It was like eating in a make-shift restaurant. The staff were not interested in their customers and were slow to take orders, clear plates, cups etc. the... More

excellent hotel, price is not your normal hotel but worth it. split in two sections the main house and the stables side of hotel, 2 min walk between but hotel run taxis and travel between. main hotel is period and distinctive. the Stables side is quite modern but both are high standards. More

Our party of six recently enjoyed a two night stay to celebrate a birthday. The hotel is very impressive, both restaurants are very good and the rooms are of a high standard with attention to detail. The most impressive aspect however was the service; the staff make this hotel. From the courteous and friendly tour at check in to the... More

The building and attention to detail is amazing, the setting cannot be faulted. The service is 3* at best - lack of training, poor attention to detail, nothing like 5* should be. Luke warm cooked breakfast in warming dishes, the only difference between the standard of the breakfast and a holiday inn is the gorgeous decor. More

Dear Reviewer, I was alarmed to read your comments, following your visit to Luton Hoo and that your experience did not reach your expectations; which is in contrast to the positive feedback received from other guests. Luton Hoo prides itself on the high level of service and hospitality offered and, as such, I am deeply embarrassed that it was necessary... More
