I stumbled across this place having left the nearby dreadful Exmoor Lodge Guest House after only one night.
I'm so glad I found Edgcott House, which proved to be a wonderful place to stay - it is quirky, and unique. A cross between a period drama, a B&B and haunted mansion from Scooby Doo! The place has a slightly ramshackle feel downstairs, but the bedrooms are warm, cosy and very well appointed.
The 50ft 'long room' (dining room and relaxation area) has a uniqe feel to it, and the house is littered with ancient family photos and artefacts giving this place a truly eccentric feel to it. Back to the modern day, the TV in the bedrooms is satellite TV, which was an unexpected bonus.
The breakfasts were to die for - fantastic locally produced fare. The welcome was warm, this place really does have to be experienced. Do a web search for this B&B - their website gives a really good feel for the place, and some great photos to illustrate. Highly...
