“Excellent stay”

Sat 12th May 2012 stayed for one night,2 rooms,for local family reunion,rooms were clean,TV ,tea coffee,bar staff very polite,lady who cooked the full english could not have been more helpful,pub is obviously very old with history so nice decor and atmosphere,3 generations had great stay,Thanks Peter Jenny & family. More

Place looks great on the web and from the outside. However its old and the walls and ceilings are like tissue paper and if you are staying in the main pub the bar room noise travels right through. This is an old pub with rooms above. It can get busy in the pub and consequently noisy but it doesn't go on late. The pub has loads of character and has a good range of beers. Outstanding value, clean and very comfortable room, very pleasant staff and all in a lovely setting. It was a Sunday night but by 1050 all was very peaceful (not noisy before that though the bar below was quite busy, serving excellent beer).
