Stayed here last Saturday, The rooms are in a converted stable, we had 'Sun Chariot' (they are named after horses). The room was spacious and in it's day well decorated. Nice furniture but all a bit tired and knocked about. Bathroom was also very spacious with lovely deep bath but again it all needs redecorating. We had a nice afternoon... More

Myself and my boyfriend stayed at Melbourne lodge in April and were not expecting the best due to all of the bad reviews. All i can say is that our stay was lovely!! our breakfast was amazing! huge! and hot, we recieved our champagne and our morning paper! the meal in Auberge du lac was of course amazing also. We... Haveing stayed overnight, played golf serveral times and eaten both in the main complex and the 1st class Resturant our group very, very disappointed by "champagne Breakfast" on cold plates, cold food, stale food, lack of choice and the inability to provide toast after 3 seperate attempts and at least two extra reminders. Entirely ruined the whole weekend which was... More

Me and my partner stayed at Brocket Hall for his 28th Birthday and it was absolutely lovely - A grand entrance leads you into a gorgeous estate - My only fault is that the resident snobs are openly not very happy to see you... we stayed away - their cars were worth more than our house so guessed we wouldn't... Bought a deal via Groupon which was for 1 night B&B plus 6 course taster menu in Auberge du Lac. Was to include 'Champagne and a gift on arrival' 'Champagne Breakfast' and 'Morning Newspaper' Didnt get into or rooms until after 3pm (that was the time advertised). Whilst we were waiting, we had lunch on the terrace. Club sandwiches bread... More

I stayed in Melbourne Lodge on the £129 special. The price was very good value for two rounds of golf and an overnight stay. I don't think there would be much to do if you do not play golf, other than go to the Auberge du Lac restaurant. Althought it was a cold, wet and windy March day, the Melbourne... More

The Brocket Hall experience is far from being the luxurious one which it tries to advertise itself as. We had an overnight stay at Melbourne Lodge (a poorly converted stable in bad need of a clean) and dinner at the Auberge du Lac retaurant; good service; average food; P&O ferry style decor. The hotel was full of cobwebs, the bathroom... More

Stayed in Melbourne Lodge, which is at the top of the hill, great views, room ok, but when you attending a black tie dinner in a long dress & heals, it's raining and blowing a gale, the hotel do not offer a shuttle service to the main building. Breakfast was a disaster, only one other couple in breakfast room waiting... More

We had an overnight package here, with dinner in Auberge du Lac included. The room was larg, very pretty (Nijinsky) and well equipped, altough only one set of small toiletries for two people seemed slightly mean! Melbourne Lodge is a building on its own, you have to find your way to the Golf Club in the dark to pick up... More

Melbourne Lodge is a part of the Brocket Hall conference and golfing setup. In fact it is the old stables converted into 16 bedrooms. We bought this on a Groupon deal for £115 (room and 3 course meal in the Auberge du Lac, which is in the grounds) If you bought this direct it would have cost £295. Anyway, Melbourne... More
