The first very good impression was while exchanging emails to book our accomodation. Although we caused quite a mess-up Denise and John stayed nice and understanding. Our rooms were very clean and superb equipped. John's breakfasts were our talk of the day: we actually spent our days thinking about the following day breakfast! Our hosts were of great help with... more

On business and this guest house was a top find. The service, hot breakfast and excellent standards of cleanliness were all top drawer. However, the showers were show stoppers...so many hotels' showers are miserable dribbles...here you get a really good skoosh...and if you had been out on the hills all day ...this simple factor would make your stay memorable...so why... more

First of all we appreciate your kind comments about our home, thank you. We get many remarks regarding our showers and the strength of them, we feel it is important that people can feel refreshed after a long day. Cleanliness is also an important factor as you mentioned. On the Wi-Fi front we are currently in the final stages of...

Conveniently situated guest house on road from Ballater to Braemar. Good clean and comfortable accommodation offered by the hosts together with hearty breakfast. We were also able to use a guest lounge with TV, plenty of reading material and local tourist information. This guest house is close to and within very easy walking distance to the small and friendly town of... more

I had a very pleasant and relaxing stay at the Glenernan. The proprietors offer a good range of cold and cooked breakfast choices. The room was to my likings, with a good bed and the necessary equipment to make my break pleasant. John and Denise were very helpful to find me suitable places to have dinner and also helped me... more

Having never stayed in a B & B before, my partner & I never knew what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised at this spacious & clean guesthouse. Since staying there last September we've returned there twice. Rooms are of a decent size & the ensuite power shower was brilliant. There is one very small double room, but still... more

We booked through the website & were promptly replied too. On booking I informed Mrs Farringdon my wife was a celiac. She went out of the way to accommodate us. Getting in special bread for breakfast. On arrival we were welcomed & given a choice of the rooms available as obviously it’s a bit quieter over the winter months. The... more

Went to Glenshee for some skiing and decided to stay in Ballater as there is more there than Braemar. Found this B&B. Rooms are small but have all you need. Very clean well kept house. Breakfast pre ordered the night before. The porridge was dire microwave stuff but everything else was very good and decent portion plenty tea and toast... more

Thank-you for your kind review and your comments are much appreciated so as we can improve our service to all our guests. On the porridge front we only use the most famous brand and yes we do microwave it (according to instructions on the box) so well spotted, however I, even though I don't like porridge, tried it from cooking...
