Warwick Hall sits in a spectacular setting on the banks of the Eden River. The owners were friendly, helpful, and made us very welcome. Our English Breakfast each morning was made using local produce, cooked to perfection, and the taste was excellent....thank you Val! The rooms and bathrooms were amazing and the beds very comfortable. The suites we had were... More

I'm so pleased your big family holiday was such a success.! What a lovely happy family - you were a pleasure to share the house with. You made friends with our staff, who thought you were dream customers, and best friends with our dogs - the redoubtable Boots and Rhubarb. After living away from your childhood homes in Cumbria for... More

Thanks to Val, Harry and all the staff for making our recent family get together such a success. There were fifteen of us with a couple of extra guests for dinner and it was perfect! The house is a great size for this number. The rooms were lovely- clean and very comfortable, with lots of space and amenities. The food... More

Fantastic location, beautiful views on top of which Val and Nick Marriner made us so comfortable and spoilt us rotten in their elegant stately home on the banks of the river Eden. We ate delicious local food cooked to perfection. Nick made the best crackling any of us have ever had. Working is worth it if you can spend your... More

Thank you so much for this! It is especially meaningful to us because this was the first big house party week-end when I wasn't around ( yes - we do have to go away too from time to time) - and our wonderful Sarah Brumfitt and her team were in charge. It is so gratifying to hear that everything was... More

On the Eden River, attractive large rooms with large baths, delicious English breakfast and dinner in evening. Fish for salmon or see Roman ruins at Vindolanda or just sit and watch sheep with a cup of tea. More

Beautiful interior of house, relatively average exterior but picturesque grounds. Slightly eccentric Canadian/ American owner but largely friendly. Kitchen (well stocked with devices) available as well. Excellent breakfast. More

6 of us stayed at Warwick Hall on the River Eden for 2 nights last weekend. We had a fabulous time. One couple is from London, one from Yorkshire and one from Lancashire (average age 66) and we all said that this weekend was the best of our "reunions" to date. Nothing is too much trouble for Val Marriner and... More

We enjoyed the company of this group - they came all ready to have fun and enjoy themselves! It's nice for us when guests can see what we are doing, and are so appreciative. A big thank you from all the staff and from Nick and me for taking the time to write in. Kind regards, Val More

Driving A69 from Carlisle towards Newcastle, you will soon reach Warwick-on-eden. Drive carefully because suddenly at the left side, you will see a discreet sign “Warwick Hall” to left. Turn left. Soon you come to a big house. No hotel sign. So you will knock at the door and find out that this building is not a “real hotel”. More... More

Oh, dear - the old saying - no good deed goes unpunished. Last week I carefully blocked - I thought - the online booking channels. Guestlink for my own website, Laterooms for theirs, and Eviivo, to close out all the others. Much to my surprise, a very nice pleasant man turned up at the door in the pourning rain with... More

For a beautiful black greyhound like me this is about as good as it gets. It wasn't bad for the humans either! We spent two nights here and my Mum and Dad got given a suite cos it was better for us dogs. And it was better for us dogs! The food was fab and just right for people who... More
