Reading previous reviews I was sceptical of what our stay would be like but went there with open ideas to formula own opinion, oh how we should have listened! Upon arrival there was no where to park so I got out and went to reception whilst my husband looked for the elusive space we were guaranteed in the brochure as... More

The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and is a stunning looking building. That is where the good bits end. The corrdiors of the hotel smell damp, the rooms are in need of redecoration and you are kept awake by the noisy central heating system. During a recent stay the TV remote didn't work and I asked the hotel staff... More

Booked this one very last minute with easy breaks.com Stayed for a short break 3/5 - 5/5/12 Didn't know where to go and this little special deal caught my attention . Only 30/40 miles down the road! It's an old mansion on the outskirts of darlington next to the rugby grounds. A spa hotel, lovely little pool and fitness suite... More

I spent 3 days at the Blackwell Grange. The location is lovely. The room I stayed in was clean and suitable for a single person. It looked over the back of the hotel. Walls were very thin and when people came back late at night and slammed there doors it would wake me ... so didn't sleep that well while... More

We stayed one night, the bedroom was lovely just been refurbed to a good standard. We had our evening meal at the hotel which was really good and great value. I had read disappointing reviews but they were unfounded on our visit. Glad we stayed at Blackwell Grange. More

The building of the hotel is quite old and look crampy but the room was OK, quite nice. The food for breakfast was very nice. However, there was staff to serve the buffet, I find that quite stupid. The guests were not allowed to serve food themselves. More

My son and now daughter-in-law had their wedding at Blackwell Grange last week. Although it rained for most of the day the wedding was perfect. This was due in part to the excellent service and attention from the staff at Blackwell Grange. The staff were friendly and professional throughout the day. They helped sort any request out promptly and without... More

A good hotel, stayed 4 nights on business, so costs being met - otherwise it would have been a bit pricy. 3 course menue for £20 wsn't too bad, but drinks were a tad on the high side. Outstanding buffet breakfast though - with black pudding - always a sign of a good brekkie..... More
