To get access to the hotel, we had to call a telephone number and wait for about 10 minutes for somebody to come and let us in! When booking we specifically asked for a smoking room and were told they only had 1. (This room by the way, is via a shop front...!) Ok, that's fine, we all know how it is for smokers. HOWEVER, what we were not told was that the smoking room is not only VERY cold but the smell of damp in there is overpowering. The hotel is a 3 star AA approved but this must be in regard to the bar / dining area and the rooms that are non-smoking which on the web site and in the brochure do look very nice. Certainly the room we stayed in was not 3 star. The bathroom was freezing (no heating in there at all), there was mould around the bath, the ceiling was collapsing and the shower was luke warm. (No complimentary toiletries by the way and no hair drier.) Although there was a storage heater in the room, it was not on and I couldn't get it to work. We did have another... more
