I would highly recommend a stay at the Ivydene Hotel, just off the seafront but in easy walking distance. The welcome was very warm and friendly, the owners are very knowledgeable about the region to aid your travel around town and Sussex. The accommodation was a good standard and very clean with a hearty breakfast in the morning. Thoroughly enjoyed... More

Excellent place to stop in and feel at home. All requests were met and Ros & Colin always had something more to offer. Thank you! As a solo traveller I found Ivydene very accomodating. I especially liked how much effort was made to ensure I was happy. The food was great and evident that much time and thought was involved.... More

On arrival the greeting was as warm as before with a nice cup of tea. Strange enough we actually has the same room as last time and were impressed to see they have been busy in the last year or so with Improvements. The old tin shower cubical was gone and a fresh modern unit in its place, also the... More

We stayed in the hotel for four nights. I will give staff friendliness 6/10 points. The location is just under 10 minutes walk from the beech, about 15 minutes from the shopping centre with no parking facilities (except for on the road parking). For the location I will give 7/10 points. The room was small with small TV without any... More

Needing an escape from the city for a weekend, friends recommended Ivydene in Eastbourne. I found it to be a perfectly situated and thoroughly pleasant place to stay. The owners were so friendly and helpful, the food delicious and well presented in the light and well kept dining room. My room was clean and comfy, excellent to retire to after... More

Have now stayed at Ivydene on 2 occassions and will be returning again for a weekend stay next month. The most recent trip was with my wife and our 2 young sons in a family room with adequate space for the 4 of us. The hotel is only a short stroll away from the sea front, which is ideal for... More

We've stayed here a few times and are puzzled by some of the other comments. This is not a five star luxury hotel, but a small and very friendly guesthouse, which charges a very reasonable rate. Rosalind and Colin welcome all their guests personally and couldn't do more to make sure you are happy and comfortable. The rooms are cosy... More

I stayed at Ivydene with my girlfriend over the Bank Holiday weekend. It was perfectly located, very clean, comfortable, well organised and exactly the type of accomodation we were looking for. I would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Eastbourne. The staff were very friendly. They made us feel welcome and it had a real family feel to... More
