It's rare that I moved to write a review but we really loved The Guesthouse East and so had to write about it. We arrived recently after a very long flight from Hong Kong, tired, jetlagged and with a sick infant in tow and it couldn't have been nicer to arrive at this place. The room was beautiful, luxuriously furnished,... More

We so enjoyed our weekend with the host family, who are extra proactive in providing ideas for things to do, accommodating all our family needs, and generally being available. The rooms are comfortable, the showers are full of power, and the hospitality amazing. Their little children even shared their toys with ours and they all played in the private back... More

Thanks Evelyn Great to have you and your family here - our children love having extra friends around to bounce with on the trampoline or rustle things up together on their 'cooker' so I think it should it should be me thanking you rather than the other way round. We're not far from London so I hope we see you... More

Chose to stay at Guesthouse East based on reviews seen on Tripadvisor. A family-run guesthouse with plenty of warmth. Well located, near the sea face too. The rooms are eclectic, spacious and the bath ... super-spacious! The room even had a small kitchen, fully equipped. The hosts are warm and welcoming and go out of their way to help you... More

Carl and Sarah are very welcoming without being in your face. Carl was particularly helpful with routes for a walk to beachy head and the seven sisters walk. He even offered to give us a lift up to Beachy Head which we declined as it was a lovely day and we felt fit. Huge beds and no noise pollution in... More

Thanks for the review, Nick. Glad you made it up to Beachy Head on such an amazing day - the views still captivate me and I'm up there at least once a week! Hope to see you both again. Carl More

I'd never been to Eastbourne before but loved it, as did the rest of my family. The Guesthouse East was fine in most respects and it was interesting to have a litle kitchen, which i am sure would prove a very good thing on a multi-night stay. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. They gave recommendations and discount vouchers for... More

Thank you so much for providing feedback on your family stay. We're delighted you enjoyed both the guesthouse and Eastbourne (which always seems to exceed people's expectations). We are quite unusual in our ability to offer good space for five (some suites offer more space than others so it is always helpful when we can discuss requirements before a booking... More

The Guesthouse East is an excellent guesthouse only 100 meters from the sea. The rooms are nice, spacious and clean. The owners, Carl and Sarah, are very friendly and helpful. Carl's porridge at the breakfast is worth the whole stay. The guesthouse was much nicer than standard hotels one tends to book all the time. Our 3 children liked the... More

Thanks Per for the review - I can only hope that the concentration required to write it took away the aches and pains from your considerable endeavours! It was a delight having the five of you around for a few days and who are we to disappoint our childrens' requests - see you next year! Carl More

My family and I went to Eastbourne to visit my mother who lives there. I spent lots of time online reviewing accommodation choices for our stay. The Guesthouse East stood out immediately as a quality establishment. Carl and Sarah very promptly replied to my emailed questions, and were wonderful on the phone when I called them. I found myself with... More

I think I should actually be thanking you - and not just for the review - but for the distraction and entertainment your children provided for my two little ones over many days - it was worth £££s in childcare! We're only happy if we see our guests having fun and enjoying their stay to be honest, so it was... More

My wife and I were given a Marks & Spencer weekend break voucher and decided that Guesthouse East and Eastbourne fitted our requirements. We were not disappointed - whether it was the superb accommodation; the friendly and relaxed welcome from Carl and Sarah or the sunny and warm weekend they laid on for us! Guesthouse East is not really B... More

Thank you so much for taking the time for such a thorough review. We've tried hard to provide our guests with the freedom to make the most of their precious time away, both through the facilities and information on offer. I'm very pleased to hear it's just what you needed for your break. Hope to see you again. Carl More

Eastbourne is one of the loveliest places to visit in England and Guesthouse East is an excellently located B&B right next to the beautiful Eastbourne Esplanade with an easy walk to the pier. The room was spacious & comfortable with a roomy kitchenette. Your hosts Carl & Sarah are warm & friendly, the breakfast is very nice in a pleasant... More

Great to hear that you enjoyed your stay in Eastbourne so much - quite a change from Australia! Thanks you so much for the lovely review. Our guests often choose to stay here on the basis of the feedback left by previous guests so it is much appreciated. I'd better get some more ingredients in for my 'legendary' porridge -... More

The difficulties were all my fault, not Carl and Sarah who were unfailingly polite, helpful and friendly. Their kindness was beyond what anybody could reasonable expect. From early in the morning until way too late in the evening they always responded with good humour that was obviously and remarkably unforced. The place itself is superbly located, clean and bright.
