Stayed 2 nights at the SAS Radisson Ålesund on business and was impressed. Modern interior, friendly staff and nice position right next to the water in the city centre. Breakfast buffet was excellent, large selection and good quality. more

Nice location very close to the harbour. I was upgraded to a Business Class room on the top floor. Spacious with a good bed and furniture. Nespresso coffee machine and other nice amenities. Stayed here for 2 nights. Very friendly staff during our entire stay. I was given a standard double room with two small single beds and no upgrade even if I am both Radisson Goldpoints Gold member and SAS eurobonus Gold. The rooms was ok. We made a decision to change our Norway itinerary to go and visit Ålesund, and we're so glad we did - it's a lovely place! We arrived via bus from Bergen, which has to be the most visually stunning (but gruelling) journey we have ever made. This hotel is everything that you would expect from a chain hotel. The hotel is modern, the rooms clean, the staff efficient and polite and the food of good quality. So on most counts it is very acceptable if unispiring. Where it does have the edge is in its location, right on the edge of the fjord with fantastic views... more
