Clean and comfortable rooms with no frills. Fairly close to bus stops for travel to the city centre. Good breakfast and reasonable, but not extensive, menu for lunch/dinner. Modern looking hotel with very pleasant and helpful staff. Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in the room but for those who do not mind an early morning trip to the reception... More

Clean, Nice and comfortable hotel in a good location if you have business in the area. Restaurants, bars, training and good opportunities for other needs close by. Ask for a room on a high floor facing the river for most quiet location. Good breakfast and nice outside area on lowest level if weather is ok. Reasonably priced and good transportation... More

This hotel is located about twenty minutes by walk from the central station. There is no tram stop close to the hotel. But it is a good choice for work related travel. The room is clean and the beds are good for sleep. The menu in the restaurant is not long but it contains two top class courses, one vegetarian... More

i liked this hotel as it felt really clean and new. the hardwood floors were a nice touch. there was a large floor to ceiling window which made it feel nice and airy. there is a great market next door for food, coffee and wine. The staff was friendly and helpful. the location is a bit far out, but still... More

I stayed here one night when in Oslo on business and its a good hotel. Everything is new and clean. The hotel decor is contemporary and perhaps targets a younger audience?. I ate dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was surprisingly good. The gym was being rebuilt but i received a voucher to SATS across the hotel, which... More

Thank you for your review after staying at Scandic Vulkan. We appreciate your positive comments and are happy to hear that you liked us! Our restaurant, V Bar og Bistro, is Swan-labeled and focuses on ecological and locally produced food. The rooms are spacious for being a newly-built city hotel and therefore the wardrobe facilities might be perceived as insufficient... More

This hotel is situated in quite a unique area. Just outside the door is the infamous new Mathallen: Food Hall, and there's also a great gym and dance performance venue onsite. And a gourmet burger place: Døgnvill. The staff will be happe to help you with whatever. Across the street is a a bar and nightclub called BAR VULKAN which... More

Choice of this hotel was made by proximity to business meeting. Everything about this hotel is typically Norwegian... Competent and efficient. Rooms are ok but a bit minimalist. Only real gripes were nowhere to rest suitcase for packing other than on the bed & for such an Eco-mad country, the ceiling embedded light bulbs weren't LED, but full fat juice... More

Stayed here for 10 days on a business trip in the beginning of August 2012. The hotel is ideal if you have business on Grünerløkka, but it only takes 10-15 minutes to walk to the city center. The staff in the front desk was very professional and helpful. Responded very quickly to my e-mails and met my demand for a... More

If you've ever spent a night at a Scandic Hotel before, you'll find yourself right at home here. In that, you'll know what to expect. This hotel may, with its modern exterior and boutique-inspired interior, deceive you into thinking that you ended up somewhere else. However, the over-crowded breakfast buffet, the lack of packaged beauty products, the questionable finish of... More

Thank you for your feedback after your stay with us. We appreciate your comments. In our SHOP and lobbybar, open 24/7, you can buy full-size products and fresh goods at all times. We apologize for the unfortunately, not... More

I stay here regularly for work. It tries very hard to be cool, so there was a weird steel object in my room, but nowhere to park my case flat (except by rearraging the sculpture and keeping case on the floor). My room was quite cold and the heating adjuster didn't work - important when it's -18 degrees celcius outside.... More
