The hotel was overbooked and a lousy explanation was given so I was sent off to their sister "Hotel Regina", which is not in the city centre. Despite various suggestions for a compensation they rejected everything. On the second night I was transferred back to Royal Hotel and it was OK. Just a complete waste of time spent in taxi's... more

The location, although noisy at night, was the best thing I can say about this uber snooty hotel. Although our reservations were made 6 months in advance, we were given a room on the only unrenovated floor without a/c. Our complaints were met with snickers and snide looks between staff. Not only was there no a/c, the cloth headboards were... more

We stayed several days in this nice hotel, offering good complimentary breakfasts as well as a helpful staff. Their suggestions were well received with regards to tours and restaurants. more

The hotel is very good and the people in the reception very helpful. The location of the hotel is the most important. There are restaurants ,cafes stores etc near the hotel.A supermarket is opposite the hotel with cheap water ,fruits etc. The rooms are big and comfortable. The only negative is there is no airconditioning in the rooms. more

I travelled with my boyfriend to Vienna around New Year. As the hotel prices are high, I found a great deal of this hotel and choose it because of the 4 stars and a location. Well, location is unbeatable. Behind Stephansdom! Grocery store right next to it and yo couldn't have it better. But the hotel itself... Well, it definitely... more

The rooms are basic. For example there is woodchip wallpaper and no desk (I'm writing this with my laptop propped on the fold-up suitcase stand :-). Just two low beds, two cairs and a minibar fridge with an old 12" telly on top. Shower only and very old fasioned fittings. That said - I would stay again because you can... more

This hotel is in a very good location. That is about all that it has going for it. The room we had was ok but I've stayed in better in hotels rated 3* and costing half the price. The breakfast was poor - again, I've had better in 3*. The hot choice was some scrambled egg that looked as though... more

The room was spacious and there was a tub, but the real scoop is the location and the excellent roof-top restaurant and terrasse. more

We went to Vienna for a second honeymoon, leaving the kids at home (with relatives). We found Vienna to be a beautiful and romantic city. The Royal Hotel is located right next to the Cathedral in the heart of the city. The staff were all friendly and went out of their way to assist us. The breakfast was delicious. We... more

this hotel could not be a 4 star. The location is without no doubt the best thing about this hotel. It is right in the middle of Vienna - close to St. Stephans Cathedral, the subway and a fine supermarket, but several things were not good. When we arrived we were shown to our room by a member of the... more
