The location is unbeatable, right between Schwedenplatz (where there's a subway station, several tram car stops and the airport bus shuttle) and Stephansplatz, the turistic hub of the city. Still, because it's situated in a tiny alley, the hotl is very quiet, the rooms are big enough, comfy and very clean. The breakfast has a very good selection of items... More

The hotel is in a cul de sac so no passing traffic and is only a few minutes walk from shops and about 5 minutes from the Cathedral. Doesnt have a restaurant but lots of choices in the area and does a good self service breakfast with a wide range of options including hot food. Single rooms seemed small but... More

This is an excellent place to stay in Vienna. It's a family driven hotel in a period building bang in the middle of the Old Town. The rooms are very quite with windows facing a virtually unused road. The breakfast buffet was included in the price but had a limited choice. Still, a wonderful place to stay in Vienna.

My husband and I have stayed in this Pension 2 different times. The first time was for 10 days and second we brought friends for about 3. We love it. If you want 5 star accomodations and amenities don't stay in a 3 star hotel. Yes, it is old and a little worn but it makes up for that in... More

The hotel's central location was excellent for all the city centre sights including the opera, the main purpose of our visit, while being situated away from traffic routes ensured a good night's sleep. Rooms were simple (2 singles) but comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast offered plenty of choice, even for my friend with a gluten allergy. The staff were always... More

i really enjoyed my stay at the kaerntnerhof. The location was very good. It was centrally located, and near restaurants. The room was small, but comfortable. The breakfast was good, with eggs, sausages, and the normal european breakfast. Had cucumbers and tomatoes, also. I took the bus from the airport, and walked to the hotel, which was not that far. Alot cheaper than the taxi would have been. I... More

Just basic amenities here, but the staff was very helpful with maps, directions, and a power converter for my US electronics (the best 5 Euro I'll ever spend). The central location is really a plus: I walked to dozens of attractions my first two days in the city. Breakfast was fine, and while the room was pretty average, that's all... More

Stayed here for 3 nights in Feb and were well looked after by the staff. Arranged a bottle of Champagne for a breakfast birthday surprise and were quite happy with balloons and decoration on the breakfast table. As another reviewer pointed out the breakfast is the same every morning again that is an advantage since you know you will be... More

It's a good choice if you think about it's very central location. The hotel looks quite old but the confort it's good. It is very close from the most visited attractions in Wien. The breakfast it's the same everyday, but it's not a negative point of view. So, if you to spend average money in accomodation, choose this hotel.

The hotel has certainly seen better days. The floors (and elevator) creaked, the furnishings and decor were dated but the rooms were clean and comfortable. With a friendly staff and good (quiet) location the Kaerntnerhof is worth considering if planning a trip to Vienna.
