We spent last weekend in this hotel. We liked spa area and breakfast, but room is not 4 star standard. Disadvantage is that it was very warm inside the room, although it was cold outside, so I assume in summer it must feel like being in sauna (we were acommodated on top floor). For dinner we walked to city, which was quite... More

Steigenberger in Krems is a nice SPA-hotell. The finnish sauna meets nordic standard. The pool is large enough to allow for swimming. The breakfast is also well done, with a lot of selection. A minus for smell of smoke comming in from other rooms to the toilet, otherwise nice room. No free internet connection in the rooms give a fealing... More

Vistied this hotel mainly for its' relaxation facilities. We were not disappointed. The pool, jacuzzi, saunas, steam room and relaxation centre were all spotlessly clean and well maintained. A waiter offered occasional glasses of apple juice, and tea and fruit was freely available. On the Friday it was quite comfortable, but by Saturday afternoon it began to get really busy... More

It's just a short walk up the hill from the Danube University with stunning views over Krems Stein. The rooms are different, some of the standard rooms have a balcony, some have not. Beware of the top floor on hot summer days, there is no air conditioning in the whole hotel. The breakfast is very good, the sundeck is nice... More

In fact, I chose this hotel for the airconditioning, that apparently, they didn't have. Travelling to the Wachau valley in August I was afraid of the lack of air....which came to pass...very very little movement of air. The beautiful updated suites are all placed perpendicular to the river so there is no movement of air....they finally gave us a room... More

After spending four nights at the arte Hotel, I stayed a couple of nights at the Steigenberger. After the ultra modern arte, Steigenberger rooms seemed rather oudated and in need of refurbishment. However, they were pleasant enough. The breakfast was good, with lots of items on offer. The best part of the hotel was the outdoor terraces and pool as... More

The hotel is located in the vineyards outside the city. The location is great, there is an outdoor swimming pool that also serves as a great lookout point over the Wachau area. The restaurant has a terrace with a great view over the vineyards (don't miss it). I've stayed there multiple times and it's always been a nice and relaxing... More

Steigenberger has some strong assets, especially its location, swimming pools and saunas. Rooms are average, so is breakfast. Staff is helpful and nice, but this obviously is a hotel for non-foreigners. Nothing is written in another language and people that stay there are mostly Austrians. It does not mean that foreigners are unwelcome, it just shows that very few go... More

The hotel is well located, rooms are average, it does not apply its environmental policy - they do change the towels although you keep them on the rack - and breakfast/restaurant are also average. However, it's got a nice mix of old and new architecture and a great view. It has a stunning indoor pool, 3 different types of saunas,... More

Worst level of service experienced. Worst price/quality ratio (actually no ratio whatsoever!). At this, supposedly, internationally run standard, the worst hotel we have ever stayed in! Very low level of customer orientation (niveau null)! No ironing board (either available or allowed in the room)! No soap, no shoe polish or any other bathroom/personal utensils in the room (just two soap... More
