We stayed for 8 nights in mid January then returned for a further 2 nights a few days later after returning from Gozo. We were really impressed with the staff friendliness, cleanliness and the views of the Grand Harbour. The hotel is one of the best for location, close to the good bus services which allows one to travel easily... More

My husband and I have just returned from 5 nights at British Hotel. We had a fantastic time. The hotel is a little quirky but that is due to the nature of the old building. We requested and got a superior room with the most amazing habour view and a large balcony. The beds were comfy. It was clean and... More

At the moment we are doing up quite a few rooms , changing the bathrooms and replacing curtains etc ..so its an on going thing... More

The beds are comfy, the view is to die for but don't get excited about the breakfast. This hotel is very basic but the staff are extremely helpful and even in the middle of the night cannot do enough for you. The stairs are hard to take with luggage if you are on the top floor like we were and... More

Very well located Hotel although a lot of taxi driver's don't know where it is, close to the main square, the main churches, baracca gardens and other attractions of Valletta.. a far walk to the bus depot but doable. The hotel is clean and well maintained, the rooms are spacious and at a high point the view out to the... More

Thank you for your comments. To clear some things , please note that I do not expect for all the taxis to know where the hotel is but more than most of them do. The bus terminus is usually about a 10 minute walk away however due to the restoraion works that are being carried on at the moment ,... More

I noticed how there is a pattern to the reviews of British Hotel. Some people complain about the stairways, steps and confusing corridors, other people find it charming and natural in a city like Valletta. Some people complain about a cracked tile in the shower, other people mention the stunning view and kind staff. Before booking here you should consider... More

Thanks for your comments and tips . I am glad you enjoyed your visit with us. I am afraid that it 's true not everyone appreciates the old heritage building and it does require a lot of expense to maintain but I think this is what makes the hotel stand out from other places, besides its location and stunning views.... Returned this week. This delightful hotel should be ranked higher. Everything about it was commendable. I pick George for special mention, even fixing coffee at 5 am. David and Chris were most helpful at the desk. But how about having Bibles in the rooms as in most hotels around the world? They are free from Gideons. Thanks a lot. More

Thanks for your wonderful review and am glad we made you feel welcome. I just want to inform you that I had bibles before in the rooms and I used to have complaints by people who have a different religious views so we decided to take them away, however we do provide information for different religions at reception, once again... I've read some mixed reviews about this hotel but found, for a two star rated hotel, that it had everything we needed. We arrived at the hotel early and the staff on reception were more than happy to hurry along the cleaning of our room so that we could get inside for a desperately needed shower. During our two day... More
