This is a lovely hotel, well placed for sightseeing around Malta. It is right next to the bus station and a short walk from the main street in Valetta. The staff were outstandingly helpful and pleasant, without exception. The barman is a cocktail expert and mixes some spectacular cocktails! The Phoenicia is not a hotel for a beach vacation. There are plenty of others available in Sliema, St Julians etc. Instead, the Phoenicia is at the gates of Valletta, allowing you to stroll the fortress walls, Co-Cathedral and other sites from the 16th century to now.
