I accidentally booked twice for my five day stay during Iceland Airwaves. When I arrived the first day, we discovered the mistake and the hotel informed me that they would cancel the duplicate booking. On the third day, they told me that no part of that duplicate booking was refundable. Then I was told that the booking was refundable, but... more

The room I stayed in was brand new and of course perfectly clean. It had the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in with the most comfortable bed cover (quilt?)! The service was superb. The shower had a water temperature control. The room was quiet and overlooked the small downtown square. At the hotel, the tour buses pick up and... more

We stayed in a triple room and have to say the best thing about it was the location. It's RIGHT in the plaza area, a 20 second walk to nearest food place, a 5mins walk to grocery store and all the bars and some restaurants are down the road. You can get there from the airport by getting the Flybus... more

My partner and I decided to spend a couple of days visiting Iceland on our way to Amsterdam. This hotel was offering very competitive rates and the reviews were generally okay, so we thought we'd give it a chance. We were very pleased with our choice. The service from the front desk staff was consistently professional and helpful. They were... more

Firstly we were given a dingy dark room and i'm not one to usually complain but we politely asked if we could change rooms. They probably found that annoying but they got us another room. This hotel was very central but was a bit noisy on thursday night as the hotel bar was busy, I went and politely asked for... more

This hotel is located in a great location for seeing all of Reykjavik though the street noise is a bit of a pain! The rooms were small but fairly comfortable. There is no air conditioning so when it's warm (as it was the entire time we were there), you need to leave your windows open. This isn't an issue if... more

The Hotel Plaza has a great location within Reykjavil. Shops, restaurants and bars are walking distance. The hotel its self is modern, clean and well kept. The rooms again are of ample size with decent bathrooms (be prepaired for the icelandic water smell...but really good for your skin and hair). The hotel staff are really friendly and helpful, give you... more

Hotel Plaza is also called Center Hotel Plaza. It's the most centrally located hotel which means you are near the restaurants, visitor centers, tourist shops, main shopping district ( Laugavegur and Bankastræti) and the Grayline excursion center (5 min. walk). Old Harbor, the pier for whale watching excursion is about 15 min. walk. One block over is Hotel Reykjavik Centrum.... more

We stayed at this hotel for 6 days. I think this is the best located hotel in Reykjavik. It is next to the Tourist Information Bureau where you book tours and get your VAT tax refund off purchases. It faces a small square that is surrounded by take-out restaurants for cheap meals and 1 block from a variety of bars... more
