The worst thing about the hotel was that the room was dirty. There was a ball of hair in the shower. One of the beds were impossible to sleep in. Fortunately it was replaced. The staff never smiled. The breakfast was terrible (the 'fruit section' consisted of a split apple in a glass bowl). BUT: The location couldn't be better.... more

The room in this hotel was small, clean warm and basic. There was a buffet breakfast included and available in an eating room beside the reception. Tour buses pick up and drop off from the hotel and the staff will even book tours for the people staying at the hotel. There is an elevator and stairs. It is about 3... more

Metropolitan is a small hotel, has nice white rooms with minium of facilities. It is located in only 2 minutes from the city centrum, where all the restaurants are. The staff is always very friendly and willing to help. It was a wifi internet free of charge in my room. Breakfast has no hot dishes but is okay: cereals, toast,... more

I choose the Hotel online through Jac Travel which have great valued rates ! During my 4 nights at the Hotel i found it cheap and cheerful only 2 minutes walk to the main town square where i ate 2 of the nights at the Balthazar Restaurant&Bar ,great local food in the heart of Reykjavik !The nightlife was great at... more

As you don't tend to spend a lot of time in your hotel room, it wasn't a huge issue that the hotel lacked basic facilities (coffee making). It was really noisy at night, which made sleeping a problem, and while rubbish bins were emptied and loo peper changed, the beds weren't made. Good hot showers and an OK breakfast (except... more

This is is not a terrible hotel and it has a great location, but I would never stay there again because I don't trust them. I feel the manager is not overly burdened with ethics which is surprising because you don't expect it in Iceland- a very honest law-abiding place. We had reservations for 6 nights booked six months in... more

Before we went to Iceland I read some of the reviews on here and was slightly worried about our stay. But when we arrived I was pleasantly surprised! I found all the staff to be friendly and help with flights, directions etc. The place was simple, including the breakfast and the rooms, but all fine for what we wanted and... more

- The rooms are filthy and small - bathroom has many problems - the breakfast is exactly the same poor one every day - they use toilet tissue for napkins - there's jerk at the front desk during the night shift. more

On arrival to the Metropolitan we had the wave for attention infront of the so called receptionist who didn't welcome us in any way and barely said 2 words. We were then sent to a room which was twin rather than the booked double - this at least we could accept considering the small price paid. However things were only... more

We weren´t expecting much as we read the reviews from this site beforehand. Still it was a bit of a shock how bad the hotel was run. Location is the only reason to go there. Everything in the hotel is either weird or just in bad shape. Cleaning is done by a young girl with young brother or son like... more
