The reception staff was very helpful especially Liliam who tried to help us in every possible way. The hotel is super clean, we stayed in Room 1250 which had a great view of the city and Mountains. The hotel is in a quite area which I prefer plenty of good restaurants Near by. Its a 20 min walk along the... More

The hotel is about 45 minutes away from the airport and to need to ride in by airport bus.You can buy tickets at the airport just outside the arrivals door or pre-book. If you are in a group of 4 pre-book a taxi. The Hotel is around 25 minutes walk into the old town walking in through a business park.... More

We staying in the junior suites, and it was one of the best hotels I´ve ever been in. The staff was helpful, kind and always smiling. As a norwegian I´m picky about hotels, but this was absolutely worth every penny. A great stay. If I ever go back, I will use this hotel. Good breakfast, a fantastic spa (must try... More

We arrived just after midnight and were warmly welcomed. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. The main lobby was big with comfortable seating. The bar had an area to sit and eat a small meal. The room was nice and tidy, with tea/coffee facilities, cookies could have been a treat, if they had some. In the... More

This hotel is about 25 mins walk from Central Reykjavik with comfortable bedrooms and pleasant seating area in the main lobby. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff from ringing restaurants to book a table, ringing taxis to save the walk into town or organising tours. Good buffet breakfasts including fruits and yogurt, cereals, cold meats and cheeses and... More

After reading some of the reviews by the contributors mentioning the poor and disgruntled staff, it should be pointed out that Icelanders have a cultural characteristic which may, to the uninitiated, appear that way. In fact staff we encountered were. unfailingly helpful, and the hotel was a delight. Rooms are large, but those new to Iceland should bear in mind... More

We originally booked into the Cabin Hotel and when we arrived we were told they were overbooked!!! We were offered an upgrade to the Grand Hotel, which wasnt the worse decision we'd ever made!! It was lovely!! The hotel reception staff were lovely and couldnt do enough to help us! We were given a first floor double room, which was... More

I booked the Grand Hotel Reykjavik after doing a lot of research on hotel, hostels, and apartments in Reykjavik. In my opinion, its a good hotel but not great. I read many reviews that complained about the staff. The staff was professional and courteous. I think that many people want/expect them(the staff) to be friendlier. I noticed that some are... More

This is a modern and well equipped hotel. There are two blocks of rooms, one in an older lower block and one in a high rise. I stayed in the high rise in a large and very nice room. Lots of space, also in bathroom. Ok lobby bar with happy hour from 17 to 19 and a restaurant which served... More

I took my boyfriend away for his birthday and booked this hotel as i wanted a 4 star experience. I found that my expectation were exceeded. The entrance hall is very impressive, the rooms and bathroom large and spacious. We had a wonderful view over the city and it just made the experiences that much more special. There were lots...
