Hotel Matinlahti is a hotel we stayed at just outside of Helsinki, Finland. It was part of a Contiki tour we were doing. The hotel is easily accessible by bus from the Kamppi bus station (15-20 min trip), and is located in the middle of a forest, with a few houses here and there. The staff is friendly, speaks English... More

Soviet looking hotel. Staff are okay but their English is not so good. Rooms are not clean, shower is old, curtains are broken, restaurant lacks atmosphere, nothing to do in the immediate area. More

I stayed in this hotel at the very beginning of October. Hotels are relatively expensive in Helsinki and this one had come in at a good price. It is located out a bit from the centre but relatively near to where I wanted to go. It set in a wooded area, rather off the beaten track and looking out of... More

During our stay in Finland, my girlfriend and I stayed in Hotelli Matinlahti for four nights. The hotel is easily accessible by bus from the Kamppi bus station (15-20 min trip), and is located in the middle of a forest, with a few houses here and there. The staff is friendly, speaks English pretty well, after checking in, besides the... More

We stayed for four days in late June. We stayed in two rooms because the first room was really loud. It wasn't the neighboring rooms, it was the seagulls! We were on the top floor and over what could be described as a courtyard/driveway area. All day and night the seagulls were practically screaming. All day and all night. They... More

This was a decent hotel. The rooms were not 'white glove' clean and the maids did a poor job on the 'daily' cleaning of the room & bathroom. The hotel is in a beautiful area and within walking distance from a lake w/ beach volleyball, playground and other water activities. The breakfast buffet (inc. w/ room price) was very good... More

I really have mixed feelings about my stay in this hotel. Let's start from the positive things. The location is wonderful, in a quiet and beautiful part of Espoo just a couple hundred meters from a nice beach. And the room, at least when we arrived, was quite clean. Let's move on to the negative points. The hotel is really... More
