We spent a week here on half board which was worth it for trying different foods, plentiful breakfasts and great buffets at night. Staff were so friendly as soon as we arrived - Petros, Sophia and team helped us learn Greek and were attentive to our every need. We like places where we don't meet other Brits - there certainly... Well I think, that my tittle say's it all... My wife and I, stayed here for 3 day's end of June 2011. A bit as a surprise, coz we had to alter our holiday, due to the Ferry strike who was going on @that moment. Looking around on the net, I found this GEM!!!!! It was like "love @ first... More

I travelled to the Semantron while touring the Pelopennese Wine country. The Village is a bit to get to, but once there a relaxing oasis. The rooms are sparse and functional, beautiful buildings and very clean. My room looked towards the sunrise in the morning, and walked out onto a large balcony. The grounds themselves are gorgeous. An olive grove,... More

We were welcomed by the lady of the house and just her remark "we are here for you"' made our day. The village is a former part of a monastery where the monks used to make there olive oil and orange marmalade. The mill and presses are still there. The rooms are in several buildings on the premises and most... More

The term "Semantron"is derived from the acoustic object that substitutes for a bell in monasteries. The Semantron produces the sound that signals the call to prayer. Monks of Mega Spilaion constructed an agricultural community on the site of the current Semantron Traditional Hotel centuries ago in the 1840's; here oranges and olives were cultivated and harvested. The produce helped create... More

At first it was the lady in the reception. Even we had informed them for our late arrival she called us at 11.30, just while before our arrival, to say that she might not be there because she had to leave and explained to us that she will leave the room key to a guard.' This is not a four... More

What a hidden gem. Lovely, calming and very relaxing. Only a few minutes from the shore with a short drive to the main highway. A little hard to find but a beautiful place!! I wish I had a few more days there to explore the mountains and shore, the area is gorgeous. Worth every penny. I am from Chicago, USA... More

We just returned from a relax weekend at Semantron Hotel. The hotel room (double room, No 20) was relatively small but tasteful, although the bathroom was dissapointingly blunt and dated) compared to the rest of the hotel's facilities. The staff was more than friendly and eager to help, and we enjoyed spending time at the hotel's bar and restaurant. I... More

Excelent location very close to Athens (some 160 klms) in beautiful landscape. Food was excelent and could be compared to the offer of a 5 stars establishment. Ideal to relax with young children as they can safely walk arround the garden, farm. Cleaning service was good, but can improve (eg more thorough cleaning of bathroom and floor). Service is generaly... More
