This is such a convenient location for an overnight stay if you arrive at the airport in the late evening - only about a mile from the airport. Spacious, welcoming, with a small pool, and used to late-night arrivals, with a plentiful breakfast. The only blip was that the first room we were showed into smelt badly of stale tobacco... More

I left and went back for a 4th week because the staff was wonderful, the rooms were very clean, everything worked well - the heat - the air conditioner - TV, phone, internet. My flight landed at Heraklion Airport at close to midnight so I needed somewhere to stay near to the airport. The Sofia seemed to be the only option and I pre-booked it for about £50 including breakfast. I walked from the airport, which was a little unnerving, in about 15-20 minutes; I found the hotel a little tricky to find.... More

Our last night stay in Herklion at the Sofia was great. The rooms are spotless and well appointed, recently updated we understand. Rates excellent. It is close to the airport which means some noise so not recommended for a longer stay. More

Adequate hotel, with no frills, which we used for a night's sleep having arrived late at the airport. Location was good, either 4 minutes in a taxi or a 12 minute walk from the airport entrance. Room simple but ok. Service was pretty terrible. Our late snack before bed was no better than ok, and the white wine nearly undrinkable.... More
