Every inch of the Blue Palace was luxurious and beautiful to the eye. The lobby was eye catching and views from the sitting areas were spectacular. The architecture was outstanding and building materials interesting. Because it was built on a hillside, a funicular was available, as were golf carts to assist - a phone call away and only a few... more

My husband stayed for five nites in September. Let me preface the review by saying that we stayed on a combination of free Starwood nights and points/ cash redemption. So we spent very little for a room (which they upgraded to a beautiful suite without any prompting). I'm thinking if I spent 700 euro/ nite I may be a bit... more

Dear Guests, I am very glad to hear about how much you liked the Blue Palace. Starwood SPG guests are always welcome and offered the upgrade required, provided the hotel's availability allows it. I hope to have the chance to have yoiu again as a guest at the Hotel. Yours Sincerely Theodoros Frangos Director General

Not impressed. Besides being completely overpriced, it is not well kept, the restaurants are not good, and the rooms are ordinary. We even paid for the infinity pool in our room and what a disappointment. The resort is over an hour from the port and airport. Just not worth it. more

I loved this hotel. The moment I arrived, it seemed as though the entire hotel staff came to your side. They are super nice, and attentive. The rooms were gorgeous, nice bathrooms, with a private plunge pool. The restaurant is pricey, we ate at the Italian restaurant, and my food was very bland. I wouldn't eat there again. Aside from... more

Was everything and more we could have wished. We were fortunate to be up-graded to one of the new bungalows at the far east of the resort. Very private our own pool and sun deck meant we did not need to spend time at the beach trying to find a sun lounger. Plaka is a lovely village and is better... more

We stayed at the Blue Palace in August. We had what they call a superior bungalow- nice average sized room, with a nice large bathroom and balcony. The beach and pool area is nice and the staff friendly. The two main things we will remember are the price of food and drink at the hotel and also the weather. We... more

First, this hotel is incredible. We loved it. I am a Starwood Gold member and we were on our honeymoon and they did a couple special things for us: upgraded the room, flowers on the bed, champagne on arrival in room, and "happy honeymoon" cake on 2nd night. People who do not rate this hotel as 4.5 or 5 need... more

When we arrived on Crete it was raining very hard and continued to rain for hours and well into the next day! What a shock and most dissapointing to say the least. So this meant that our one hour taxi trip to the hotel seemed more like a boat trip, with no view at all of Crete. Of course the... more

Dear Guest, I am sorry that your holiday in Crete and the Blue palace had such un unfortunate begining with both the weather and the dress code of our restaurants. We are trying hard to maintain a certain atmosphere in the various venues of Food and Beverage in the property. Shorts are allowed in the Blue Door Tavern and the...

My husband and I stayed at The Blue Palace in May 2008, The resort is beautiful, in a stunning and breathtaking location surrounded by mountains and looking across to Plaka and Spinalonga island, the views are magnificent. We stayed in a standard room with a balcony and it was perfect. The pools, beach and spa area are supberp. We ate... more
