If you do decide to stay here PLEASE do not stay in a ground floor room. We had an awful time in this hotel. The room is dark and dingy. The bathroom small. Crap towels. Rubbish pillows. But the worst thing was the noise from reception. The breakfast room was next to our room and we were awoken early both... More

We stayed for 3 nights at El Greco in September and liked it. You have to accept that what you are getting is a small (approx. 24 rooms) Cretan family run hotel, squeaky clean with friendly & helpful English speaking staff and situated on one of the nicest pedestrianised streets in Old Chania. It is not a bland businessman's hotel... More

This little hotel is wonderfully located close to the Venetian Harbour in Chania. Set in a pretty and quiet street, it is only a 2 min walk from the harbour and a 10 - 15min walk to the small beach. The staff are friendly and the rooms basic and clean. However it is not as advertised on their website -... More

Amazing location, in the heart of the old town, but also closer to the beach as well (beach was a good 15min walk) staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were lovely, old fashioned, but suited the town. If you're going to be out and about everyday and need basic accommodation in a good area this hotel is for you! More

Very glad I found this place for 50 Euros/night. Skip the poor breakfast in a gloomy room - lots of places just down the street. Half an hour phone to USA was 125 Euros -- glad someone else was paying. More

We stayed at El Greco for a few days in July. The hotel is located in a quiet street in the old town, yet just a block away from the water front at the Venetian harbour, so the location was very good. But the room was very small and the bathroom too. There seemed to be a leak from a... More

Amazing hotel. Very cheap and clean. Bathrooms were a little small but other wise very good. We stayed on the 4th floor and had our own terrace with an amazing view of Chania. The lady at the front desk who works afternoons is a wealth of knowledge and very nice to talk to. Room was 55 euro per night but... More

Very charming hotel located right in the middle of the "old town" of the harbor area. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and there is someone available 24 hours/day. They provide a nice breakfast, and one morning even provided it over an hour before the normal time because we were leaving early on a hiking tour. The rooms are... More

Air conditioned, decent bathroom. Not quite soundproof walls... The only downfall. 1 block off of the old port, 3 blocks from the beach. Beautiful view from the hotels roof top terrace for sunrise. Helpful staff, own the travel agency across the street for taking the bus to hike the Samarian Gorge. More

We stayed here for 5 nights recently. Having also stayed in 5 other hotels all over Crete and other Greek islands, the rooms here are quite average, but ours came with a nice balcony with plants and bougainvillea flowers. The shower, like most showers we encountered in budget hotels in Greece, are made exactly to fit one person, and you... More
