After reading great reviews of the hotel on here and other sites we figured this was a good choice when finding a deal for a couple of weeks staying at The Althea. After being messed around a lot by the holiday company we finally arrived at the hotel. After initially feeling disappointed with the area we'd chose to stay in... More

We had the honeymoon suite and it was a duplex. The stove would not turn off. The bed and bathroom were sufficient, but not luxurious. The grounds were nice (flowers, etc.) and location was decent, but not the best- kind of tucked away from most stores and restaurants, a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, minimal beach views. The food... More

My wife and I stayed at the Althea Village Hotel in Chania, Crete for 1 week on a B&B basis. We notice some mixed reviews here but it has to be remembered that this hotel is rated as 3 star and as such, some amenities may not be up to the standards experienced in some higher rated hotels. The hotel... More

Have recently returned from here and was really disappointed as other reviews were so glowing, and I keep wondering if I stayed at the same place. The room was appalling, more like a monastic cell. The bed covers smelt musty and the shower was dreadful as it was waist high and had to be held. Condensation was rife and made... More

the althea was ideal for us as we prefer to walk, only 15 mins to Chania (which is very wellworth the visit) along beach also buses very full and smelly. The shower room could have been cleaner but the room was adequate cosidering you are out of it most of the time. The eds were very uncomfortable The grounds very well kept... This is a beautiful hotel, with rooms spread over many buildings which are set in lovely gardens. The rooms vary in size; they are simply but adequately furnished and are are comfortable and spacious, very clean, equipped with air conditioning and with a patio or balcony. Each room has a safe, though you will need to get the key from... More

We stayed in Althea Village for 7 days. Although we had booked in advace a double room (two months ago) through Booking.com, when we arrived the receptionist was a little bit shocked to see us and he reluctantly showed us the way to our room, which was REALLY A DISASTER! It was sooooooo small, you could barely move around and... More

Have visited this hotel 3 times in the past year so I think that speaks for itself. Rooms are clean and modern and set in beautiful grounds with lots of lemon and olive trees. The two pools are beautifully clean and ther are lots of sunbeds and brollys. There is a busy road close by but we didn't find it... More

We lived there for 1 week in a two beedroom apartment - children 2 years and 4 years and the pools were super. A bit cold but okay the weather in april has been the worst in all times thia year. A shortcut to the beach where we spend a lot of time. The place is good and a bit... More

My husband and I stayed at Althea for 5 nights and we found the good cost-benefit experience we were looking for, away from a very touristic area. We didn't spend much time at the hotel and didn't get to use the swimming pool, but enjoyed a good breakfast at the hotel every morning. The hotel service was friendly and the... More
