Kydon is a large central hotel dating from about 1985. Overall the property is tired, but not untidy. I spent three nights here, at about £50 a night. Room: about 100 square feet, with a balcony large enough to sit out on. Very basic but not uncomfortable. The TV was pretty knackered and only BBC World. No kettle. 1980s lighting... More

Kydon Hotel's staff far exceeds anyone's expectations. Everyone is friendly and speaks outstanding English. The location is perfect to walk anywhere you want to visit. No, it's not on the water...but no problem if you don't mind a little walk down the streets of Chania. Yes, the rooms are outdated and the beds are hard, BUT the room is clean!... More

All or almost all the points of interest in Chania are within walking distance from the hotel. Other hotels, rated higher than Kydon in this list, may have a real pitoresque location, but cannot by any means be reached by car. Beside this, to be noticed: even for a very demanding guest as I am (!), the cleanliness of the... More

What a miss! they have the best location and a nice building but they do all the things wrong... starting at recoption, they try to act "proffetional" but it comes out simply rude. the rooms need renovation immediatly!! very regular brakefast. This is the only hotel I have seen in Crete where they charge you for internet access..why? they say... More

Budget hotel in the heart of Chania. Rooms are the typical small Greek rooms. Not much just basic room setup but location is great. Great free breakfast in the morning. I might bring family to this hotel but rooms are small. But good for single or business traveler. More

We were on a 3 week, small group tour of Greece with Adventures Abroad. The hotel was right across the street from the market, short walk to the old town and the Chania Gulf. Our room's view was pretty depressing as we looked out on a side street and a pretty grotty building. The staff was accommodating to our group... More

Stayed as part of a package deal or charter. Picked Kydon because it boasted **** status at a great price tag. Service and staff are great, friendly, helpful. Decor is rather tired and old. Parking area is not sufficient for more than 9 cars at most! After all that, breakfast is fantastic and abundant. Reception offers to keep an eye... More

Almost perfect for a city hotel. Great hotel, wonderfully clean, wonderful staff. Breakfast was good, nice firm beds. Although I didn't complain about it, the couch in the sitting room of our suite was old and looked like it needed an intensive steam clean, better still it should have been thrown out. Other than that as already stated the hotel... More
